All Growed Up

I look at these kids and I wonder
When did this happen?

When did they stop being babies

And start being kids?

They've grown up so fast.

Become little people.

Time flies way too fast.
Soon enough there will be school dances,

Driving tests,
College applications.
I just hope that something of this time in their lives
Sticks with them.

That's My Boy...

I was outside watching my son play in the rain. I can't believe how big he's gotten. He'll be 5 in a few short months which means kindergarten is right around the corner. I marvel sometimes that he's been with us this long and yet there are days where it seems like he's just always been a part of us.
Don't get me wrong, I'm SOOOO not one of those moms that is going to have a hard time letting him go to school. If anything I'm a little bummed that his birthday is just a hair too late to have started already. I just can't believe that he's gone from this little bundle of spit up to this.
Yes, he's four although he looks six or seven but sometimes acts two. He's bright and funny. he can make up a story that goes on and on and, sometimes, on and on and on. He knows how to push my buttons and is constantly blaming things on his sister. He's a great hugger and will talk the ear off of anyone who will listen. He's sensitive and a bit self-centered. He's definitely unique and marches to his own drummer. I wouldn't change a thing... Well, not at this moment... There are days though...

It's been a while

Sorry kids... Life has been a bit hectic as of late and I haven't dedicated enough time to my blog. Hopefully that will change. I do have some happy crafting news.. I've started selling some frames. WooHoo. I even have an offer to place some on consignment at a local coffee shop. It's all quite exciting.

I think I've mentioned before that I'd also like to start a line of greeting cards but that is on the back burner for the moment. I've gotten some made and they look super cool but I'm trying to find a cheaper route. The cards aren't that expensive to have made but I haven't found anyone who makes them in house so the shipping fee is the problem. I want to be able to price them in a way that people will purchase them not just look at them and say 'Oooo those are nice' and then hand them right back!

I'm realizing that by doing my arts and crafts it makes me a better person. I feel better and seem more relaxed after I've worked on them. I think my husband and kids like me better this way.

I've also started an on-line book club for my FaceBook friends. I'm excited about that. I hope that it sticks. It will give me a reason to read!

Well, that's my creative side in a nutshell recently... Forgot to mention the Altered book Round RObin I'm involved in as well. Those are always fun!

Follow Up to Wordless Wednesday's One Unhappy Camper

Poor Maddi. We were all having fun at the sprinkler Park...

Look... There's even a rainbow.

Big sister Grace first helped remove the flower from her hair which was soon followed by the removal of the paci. Now, a lot of things happened all at once but once the paci was gone we got this...

I know I'm horrible taking pictures in her time of distress but it was so cute and her mom was right there.

As you can see, NO babies were harmed in the taking of these photos.

My friend Lauren and I were trying to do group pictures of the 2 sets of siblings. Something always happened. For example....

She's Crafty...

I know that I claim to be crafty, it's right there in the title of my blog, but I seem to be showing more photography stuff lately. With the purchase of my first DSLR I have rekindled my old love for photography. I love it. But, I also still love getting my fingers all covered in glue and the sound of ripping paper. Ahhh... paper. If any of you are at all into paper crafts then you know that going down the scrapbook aisles at a craft store can give you the shakes and break you out in a cold sweat.
You see it. It's the coolest pattern you've ever come across. You don't need it. You have more paper now than a human could ever possibly use but what if you never see it again. That hand reaches out involuntarily and throws it in the cart. You probably need more than one sheet. Oh, and don't forget to get stuff to coordinate with it. What's the good of having it if you have nothing to go with it. It's like a new outfit with the wrong shoes; it just doesn't work. Before you know it you've picked up one of those HUGE packs of coordinating papers. I mean, heck, it's on sale after all. Then, if you're like me, you put it in your pile and maybe use a couple sheets before it gets more paper that you had to have piled on top of it.
It's a never ending cycle. I know I should probably see if there is a paper crafters anonymous group to join but I'm not hurting anyone and I can stop any time I want to. I just choose not to.

Anyway. Here are some of my recent crafty endeavours. I made them at night in IL. when everyone else was asleep. They were gifts for our IL babysitters who probably had WAY too much other stuff to do but still came over and played with our kids while we went out for grown up time.
