As part of a project about self I thought I'd include some self-portraits. I like these but, if I look to long I start to pick out the flaws. For instance, I have one eye that's bigger than the other and I come from a long line of the chin impaired...Thank goodness my kids seemed to inherit one from their dad! Notice there are NO full body shots. Maybe in a few months I'll have shed a few pounds and will be ready for that but as of right now... NO WAY.
Don't get me wrong... I like my eyes, I've got good lips and a nice nose and, although a bit bushy, my eyebrows have a good shape to them. I've got a white grey streak in my hair that IS natural and that I get compliments on all the time. All in all I didn't do too bad in the gene pool but the flaws just seem to out shine the rest when you sit and stare at pictures of yourself for too long.

Love the self portraits!! Your eyes are so gorgeous. I really love them.
Love 'em, Cheryl! especially the first b&w - intense!
I love your self portraits. I have done the 365 days challenge at Flickr and am now on my second year. I learned SO MUCH about myself through the process... wow... and have come to actually appreciate my face in all its weaknesses.
So grateful you shared!!
Ur beautiful, Cheryl! You make me wish I could / would slow down, reflect and write. Love to read ur pieces!
Hi Cheryl, I've come from CED to check out your self portraits. It's great to see you - they are fantastic pictures. We all have to learn to love ourselves, but not in a conceited way (from "The Secret"). So, you are doing well.
I love that your eyes are slightly different from each other. You would make a great painting subject. Especially that first b&w photo is mesmerizing.
I also have a white streak, at my right temple. It makes me stand out here as one of the few women my age who don't dye their hair. Go us. :)
man, i miss you guys. so do my kiddos....
